The BC curriculum are the standards of education for students, such as the skills and knowledge they are meant to have depending on the subject and grade level, as well as a guideline for teachers to follow. To me, the BC curriculum is incredibly important because it helps us know the content we need to cover with our students to give them useful knowledge, critical thinking skills, and tools to do well as members of our society. The BC curriculum is also a great tool for teachers because it lists things we need to check to improve the socio-emotional wellbeing of our students, gives suggestions on how to Indigenize a lesson, and fits the needs of diverse students.
