The Professional Standards for BC Educators are a set of rules and expectations about the conduct and content taught by teachers in BC. To me, the Professional Standards represent the role and image teachers are supposed to uphold in and out of schools, since we are always representing our profession and acting as role models to our students, as well as meeting the academic expectations the ministry of education holds us responsible for. It is our job as teachers to be the very best teachers we can be to our students, which means educating them on the appropriate content, as well as behaving like responsible and stellar adults.
